Sushi X in Chicago

Came here during the week with a group of 10 people. The inside is very small with our party taking up more than half of the seating. They offer your typical variety of sushi which was very good. Also they are BYOB! Overall a solid choice for good reasonable priced sushi Pro tip- They have monthly rolls that are half off.

This is my first time in Chicago (from VA) & my experience has been AMAZING! Today is my last day & I really wanted some fresh sushi. My friends & I called hoping that we could sit inside the restaurant & conveniently, today was the start of the reopening since COVID-19. V was so welcoming & friendly. I felt like I was back at home in my comfort zone. The food was amazing & we were able to bring our own wine which was a plus. I’d 10/10 recommend & will definitely come back the next time I’m in town. Thank you so much 😋

Wow loved it! Very intimate setting “small” lol. However what it lacks in size makes up for taste. We ate the food so fast I forgot to take a picture. The prices are just amazing and art 🖼 ties this place well with the 90’s anime playing on the wall. Very dope place.

This became my go-to sushi place because it's nearby, has great rolls, and has different half price rolls every month. What's very disappointing though is that they've gotten my order wrong a couple times when I asked for an ingredient to be removed. It was nothing complicated- just asked for cream cheese to be removed one time, and bacon to be removed another time, and they failed to do that both times. This will no longer be my "go-to" place since I can't trust that they'll follow instructions (it's not like I can easily check inside the rolls before I leave)..but I'll continue to order occasionally when I don't need anything modified.

once you get past the novelty of anime on the walls while you eat sushi, this place is really small and the quality of the sushi could be better. BYOB is awesome though.

Their sushi is incredible also try their hot bowls. It comes with delicious bacon or beef and hot rice if you’re hungrier than sushi 🍣 🥩

Great service and really cool atmosphere. Also really unique menu with lots of very elaborate rolls and delicious appetizers. We'll definitely be back!

You will pay for what you get. Truly amazing flavors. The Godzilla roll was beautiful in both presentation and flavor, would highly recommend.

It's tricky to find good nigiri in Chicago (or, let's be honest, the US). Sushi X prepares it well. Their maki options are creative and delicious; order a few different rolls to share.

They are the best, they have good food and great service. i love the maui waui and pollo loco shushi roll. Been here many times and it never dissapoints.

The food was great and the service was to it's BYOB and three items on the menu was 1/2 off the food was fresh it's was my first time there will definitely be back.

The Sushi X team did a fantastic job in preparing and flawlessly executing an amazing dinner experience for our group of 16. The dishes came out perfect and everyone raved about the taste, decor and music.

I dine in this nice place a lot! This is my favorite place to grab a bite. I visit this place at least once a month. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and the prices are affordable. I like going in this spot over a decent supper.

First time I ever tried sushi was at sushi X. I think I've been addicted ever since lol!! The rolls are amazing, can be a little busy, definitely an intimate smaller dining area but *ahem* SO. FREAKING. WORTH. IT!!!!! The owner is great. 500/10 go give it a try ♥️

Everything we had was delicious! They have two half off rolls a month which is a nice budget friendly option. BYOB with $5 corkage fee. Very impressed for a causal sushi restaurant and great value for money. Great service and they made sure to check with you before they took away a dish which I appreciate!

While the sushi was good, extremely disappointed with the service and how the staff handled the situation. We ordered the roll of the month which on the menu is stated to be half off. No where on the site does it say required to be ordered I house or call in. When placing the order online through grub hub and after going to pick up our order, I asked the cashier about the situation as it was full price on grubhub. She then provided me with the rules stating, “we should probably state that on our menu.” If she were to have apologized, offered a refund for the difference, or provided a free something, it would have been acceptable. The tone and delivery of the message was not appreciated. Other items would have been purchased knowing this upfront.
